Why did you choose HR as your field?
I chose HR as an opportunity to touch and engage in a variety of areas impacting multiple people.
What is your current job or role?
I am a Tier II HR Consultant within Comcast’s HR Shared Services. I research, escalate and resolve complex and difficult issues between employees, vendors, and Headquarters, mostly regarding benefits compliance. As Tier II, I also serve as a resource to peers on how to handle issues of benefits compliance and processes. (Also, within Philly SHRM, I am the HRCI coordinator for the Programming Committee).
In your current job, what gives you the greatest sense of reward and accomplishment?
The greatest sense of reward and accomplishment occurs when I am able to resolve a complex issue which is no fault of the employee but the employee or manager are appreciative of what could be done to restore benefits, get paid appropriately, or resolve any other escalation.
What is your greatest personal or professional accomplishment?
I am thrilled that I was able to pass the PHR in 2013 after dedicating myself to doing only self-study.
What words of wisdom would you offer to someone entering the HR field?
Join Philly SHRM and attend events, be exposed to areas of HR outside of your current role.
What have you found most valuable about being a member of PSHRM?
Philly SHRM is a great resource as a professional network and also for events to earn HRCI credits while learning more about the field outside of my current role.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Home renovation, scrapbooking, cooking.
If given an opportunity to do something really extraordinary or adventurous, what would it be and why?
Do the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb in Australia. The bridge climb seems so cool, a unique experience, if only I get over the issue of extreme heights.View More Members
