The Human Resource Management Department at the Fox School of Business cordially invites you to attend A Behavioral Perspective on Corporate Social Responsibility, delivered by Dr. Herman Aguinis, Avram Tucker Distinguished Scholar and Professor of Management at The George Washington University School of Business on February 7th at 10:30 am.

Professor Aguinis will first provide a brief overview of his research philosophy and interests together with examples of current projects. He will then describe a research program addressing a behavioral perspective on corporate social responsibility (CSR). The presentation will summarize conceptual and empirical research conducted over the past decade linking CSR with behavioral fields such as organizational behavior and human resource management and domains and theories such as leadership, employee engagement and performance, meaningfulness of work, organizational embeddedness, and employee turnover, among others. The colloquium will begin promptly at 10:30 AM. Breakfast will precede Dr. Aguinis’ presentation at 8:30am to provide an opportunity for cross-university networking.

Meet the presenter:

Herman Aguinis is the Avram Tucker Distinguished Scholar and Professor of Management in The George Washington University School of Business. He was elected for the presidency track of the Academy of Management (AOM) and is currently serving as AOM Vice President and Program Chair. His problem-focused and interdisciplinary research addresses the acquisition and deployment of talent and organizational research methods. The November 2018 Clarivate Highly Cited Researchers Report ranked him among the 96 most cited Economics and Business researchers in the world during the 11-year period 2006-2016. He has published more than 160 journal articles (e.g., AMJ, AMR, JOM, SMJ, ORM, JAP, PPsych) and nine books including Performance Management for Dummies (2019),  Performance Management (4th edition, 2019), Applied Psychology in Talent Management (8th edition, with Wayne F. Cascio, 2019), and Regression Analysis for Categorical Moderators.

He is a Fellow of the Academy of Management and Past President of the Iberoamerican Academy of Management. He is the recipient of the 2017 Losey Award by the Society for Human Resource Management Foundation for lifetime achievement in human resource research, the AOM Research Methods Division Distinguished Career Award for lifetime contributions, and the AOM Practice Theme Committee Scholar Practice Impact Award for his impact on policy making and managerial and organizational practices. He received six best-article-of-the-year awards from Journal of Management, Personnel Psychology, Organizational Research Methods, Journal of Organizational Behavior (twice), and Academy of Management Perspectives. He served as editor-in-chief of Organizational Research Methods and guest editor of Journal of Management and Personnel Psychology. He has served or currently serves on the editorial board of 25 US-, France-, Spain-, South Africa-, and Brazil-based journals.
