With your level of experience, what words of wisdom could you offer to someone who is working hard to make their career grow?

I would advise someone to be patient. After I graduated from undergrad, I believed that my dream job was going to happen overnight. Nothing happens when you want it to happen. Being a young professional, I’ve learned the importance of being patient. Not every job is as glamorous as you want it to be, but it prepares you for your dream job. Trust the process and you will soar higher then you can ever imagine.

What have you found most valuable about being a member of PSHRM?

As a member of PSHRM, the tools you are given prepares you to take your career to next level. I joined PSHRM during my last year of undergrad and was eager to learn. Having the opportunity to network and work with elite professionals has been an amazing experience. Being a member of PSHRM has prepared me to become the HR professional that I am today.

I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, traveling, reading books by Daniel Pink and volunteering.

If given an opportunity to do something really extraordinary or adventurous, what would it be and why?

I would love to shop in the Vogue accessories closet. Working in the retail industry for ten years made me appreciate fashion. A replica of the closet was created in the movie The Devil Wears Prada. I’ve always wondered, “How can I go shopping in the Vogue accessories closet, and not get caught?” I’m still working on my master plan!
