Why do you love HR?

I love HR because it’s where I get to design systems that actually help people grow while keeping things real. I care about building trust, clarifying roles, and giving people the tools to feel confident in where they’re headed. Whether I’m working on career frameworks, leadership development, or just helping someone navigate a tough conversation, HR lets me connect the big picture to the everyday experience. It’s strategic and deeply human.

What do you love about Philly SHRM?

I’ve only attended a couple of Philly SHRM events so far, but even with that limited exposure, it made a big impact. At one of the first conferences I joined after moving to Philly, I met someone who became a mentor and guide during a big life transition. That kind of meaningful and supportive connection is what I really value about this community and would love to connect with more.

Anything else you would like to share with our Philly SHRM community?

I’m currently leading some exciting work around career development and leadership training at PICPA, with a focus on making growth paths clearer and more accessible for everyone. If you ever want to talk about IDPs, performance management, or building HR systems that balance structure with humanity, I’m all in. Fun fact: I used to live in Costa Rica and moved to Philly after getting married, so I’m always happy to swap stories about navigating change, both personal and professional.
